Lords Mobile provides one of the most polished multiplayer mobile strategy game experiences on the market, but it still manages to suffer from some of the more common pitfalls in the genre. This isn't a game that does much new, but it takes established formulas and polishes them up nicely.

If you've paid any attention to the mobile gaming space of the past few years, you'll be familiar with the premise here. A gacha-based turn-based battle system is bolstered by the inclusion of a city building element. There are dozens of heroes to choose from, each of which needs to be upgraded and leveled to maximize their unique skills. They don't go into battle alone, either. Finding the right heroes for each encounter is important, but you also need to make sure that they're supported by a strong army.

That's where the two core elements complement one another. Building your base provides you with your supply chain for new soldiers as well as items, upgrades, and resources. Winning battles gives you the resources you need to expand your base. Finding a sense of balance between the two is important here.

There's a decent amount of variety modes at play here, but the heart of the experience is player vs. player combat. A dedicated guild system teams you up with like-minded players, and it serves as one of the most important methods for gathering resources and protecting your base. Despite that, there are plenty of game modes tailored towards less sociable players.
